What a Pledge Can Buy 2008/2009
$1 per pay period ($24-26 annually)
- Sends a birthday greeting or other card to 50 elderly, homebound people. (Befrienders)
- Pays for a criminal background check on two volunteers. (Befrienders)
- Sponsors a complete round of intake vaccinations, including a 1-year rabies vaccination, for two cats or two dogs (or one cat and one dog) at Heart of the Valley animal shelter.
- Would buy one 50-pound bag of premium dog or puppy food, a 25-pound bag of premium cat or kitten food, or a two-month supply of cat litter for the Geriatric Cat Adoption Room at Heart of the Valley.
- Buys a new book for the Jeannette Rankin Peace Center’s library.
- Pays for one free meeting space for one of the many small groups of active citizens who depend on the Jeannette Rankin Peace Center.
- Sponsors one visitor and allows Holter Museum of Art to keep it’s doors open to the public without charging admission
- Treatment materials for one new patient (Gateway Community Services)
- Can pay for almost two feline immunodeficiency virus, leukemia virus tests used by the Lewis and Clark Humane Society
- $1 can provide 8 meals for hungry Montanans through the Montana Food Bank Network, so $1 per pay period provides 208 meals for hungry Montanans.
- Buys a one-year membership in Montana Mental Health Association for a person with mental health challenges.
- Pays for 8 packets of suture – enough to spay and neuter 10-24 animals at the MT Spay/Neuter Task Force
- Covers the cost for Students for Choice members to do a visual campaign on campus, putting up fliers to educate their peers about the “morning-after pill,” registering to vote, what it means to be pro-choice or spreading the “Prevention First” message.
- Gives a backpack and supplies to a child enrolled in a summer school program through Rural Employment Opportunities.
- Provides one dozen bus trips for a client of A.W.A.R.E. with special needs
- Will buy 5 gallons of diesel for each of the two trucks driven by Headwaters Cooperative Recycling.
$1.25 ($30 annually)
- Provides three Preservation Tool Boxes ($10 each), hands-on resource guides compiled by the Montana Preservation Alliance, to communities striving to preserve unique historic and cultural properties.
$1.50 per pay period ($36-$39 annually)
- A pledge of $3.00 per month will provide the printing and postage for 12 of AERO's Abundant Montana directories of sustainably produced agriculture products and retail outlets for locally grown food in Montana.
- A $40 donation will provide a scholarship for a child who would like to participate in a robotics class at ExplorationWorks.
- Pays for the cost of conducting a baseline study on one acre of grizzly bear habitat. (Vital Ground Foundation)
- $40 will buy a month of dance lessons for a dancer with special needs in Bright Orange Ballet with Missouri River Dance Co. or four classes for students participating in an outreach program

- Buys fuel to help a rural Montana farm or ranch worker get to his/her next job (Rural Employment Opportunities)
- Will pay for a half day of operation for Headwater Cooperative Recycling’s innovative glass pulverizer system.
- Buys pizza for 25 youth at the annual Montana Human Rights Network shOUT summit for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender youth and their families.
- Supports the printing of 400,000 Montana Mental Health Association quarterly newsletters about disease and research.
- Will pay for three animal surgeries at MT Spay/Neuter Task Force
- Sponsors one child in an A.W.A.R.E. group home to the summer camp of their choice
- Pays for one monofilament fishing line capture bin to keep fishing access sites cleaner as well as printing and distribution of one educational brochure about the program administered by Montana Wildlife Federation.
- Will offset costs for one Teen Ambassador Officer to conduct a workshop on parliamentary procedures for 15 youth in your county through Montana 4-H Foundation.
- Helps reach one Montana youth with Meth use prevention messaging by Montana Meth Project.
$2.50 per pay period ($60-$65)
- Pays for on health care visit for a Montanan with a low income. (Cooperative Health Center)
- Pays travel expenses for a Montana Human Rights Network organizer to visit a Montana community to assist with mobilizing against hate and bigotry on the local
- Pays for the cost of appraising one acre of grizzly bear habitat. (Vital Ground Foundation)

- Pays for one hotel room for individuals coping with cancer and their loved ones at the Cancer Family Network of Montana fall retreat
- $80 will buy a costume for an outreach student participant who is performing in an Missouri River Dance Co. production

- Provides a tent and blankets for a farm worker family camped in an orchard. (Rural Employment Opportunities)
- Pays for a week-long internship in for a Montana alumnus (Ecology Project International)

- Pays for a team of 10 schoolchildren and community volunteers to clean and celebrate the river during the annual Clark Fork Coalition Cleanup each April.
- Pays for one dog spay operation or one week of cat food at Lewis and Clark Humane Society.
- Will underwrite the cost of a Montana teen to attend the Ambassador Fall Training of Montana 4-H Foundation, a three-day program for leadership and civic development.

- Pays for a full physical for a person who has not had adequate health care

- Sponsors medical evaluations and spay/neuter surgery for 2 shelter animals. (Heart of the Valley)
- Will buy eyeglasses for a rural child and improve his chances of succeeding in school (Rural Employment Opportunities)
- Pays for a scholarship for a child to attend a week-long training class at Holter Museum of Art
- Pays for one dog adoption or one week of dog food or four cat neuters at Lewis and Clark Humane Society
- Helps upgrade the Mai Wah Chong Tai buildings by installing heat, plumbing, upgrading/fixing windows and finally repainting the facade. (Mai Wah)
- Supports the professional staff of Montana Preservation Alliance as we reach out to communities striving to preserve Montana's unique heritage providing them technical assistance in protecting historic and cultural properties.

- Pays for controlling noxious weeds on 100 acres of grizzly bear habitat. (Vital Ground Foundation)
- Funds an unforgettable whitewater float for one child from a Missoula-area youth home. The Coalition’s annual Affinity Float provides more than 50 underprivileged youth with a day-long river adventure on the Alberton Gorge, encouraging them to become future river advocates.
$7 per pay period ($168 - $182)

- Pays for 10 families to attend the Growing Up Female Workshop or the Growing Up Male workshop. (Bridger Clinic, Inc.)
- Pays for 100 Wilderness Walks booklets from Montana Wilderness Association to be printed and distributed to people across the state.
- Helps bring a Vigilante Theatre Co. play to a small town.
- Enables children a special visit to a museum during Cancer Family Network of Montana summer camp

- Will sponsor a feline leukemia/FIV blood test for 30 cats or kittens at the Heart of the Valley.
- Buys camping gear for 10 students in Ecology Project International’s Yellowstone Program in Costa Rica
- Buys enough flour for a year’s worth of fry bread served by Last Chance Community Pow Wow at its cultural sharing heritage events.
- Supports interactive TV presentations so that weather and distance do not impede attendance at of consumers at Montana Mental Health Association trainings.
- Pays for 18 spays or neuters at MT Spay/Neuter Task Force.
- Covers the cost for 10 college students to attend Students for Choice Campus Organizing Training for NARAL Pro-Choice Montana Foundation.
- Will underwrite a "People Partner Grant" to a 4-H club and pay for a "Valentines Day" meal for residents at a nursing home, catered and served by a group of 4-H'ers. (Montana 4-H Foundation)

- Supports tiny tot dancers (6-year-olds) dressed in their Native regalia at the Last Chance Community Pow Wow at the Helena Civic Center during the 4th weekend in September.
$20 per pay period ($480-$520)
- Pays for one artist’s living and studio space for one month at the Montana Artists Refuge.
- Will pay one Headwaters Cooperative Recycling truck driver for a week.
- Buys 204 snowberry bushes to plant on restored lands after an old, failing, public land road is removed by Wildlands CRP.
- Provides a month’s worth of youth programming at the ExplorationWorks museum.
- Provides one computer for a foster youth attending computer camp through Student Assistance Foundation.
$30 per pay period ($720 – 780)
- Pays for an entire year of primary health care for one low-income Montana

$40 per pay period and over
- $1,000 provides one Access Grant for a Montana college student (Student Assistance Foundation)
- $1,000 pays for a partial scholarship for a Montana student to participate in Ecology Project International’s Galapagos Islands Ecology Program
- $1,200 will buy a new recycling bin for Headwaters Cooperative Recycling
- $3,000 covers costs for one student at Summer Orientation Program (Montana Association for the Blind)
- $5,200 provides funding for Newsline, recorded newspapers, for one quarter (Montana Association for the Blind)
